Unexpected K-9 death investigation

On 21 August,2023 the Labette Co. Sheriff Darren Eichinger was contacted by the Parsons Police Dept. in reference to the unexpected death of their police K-9 Karim. Lt. Kyle Wiford requested the Sheriff's Office to conduct an investigation into the death of their K-9.

The Labette County Sheriff's Office is conducting a joint investigation with the Parsons Police Dept. and the Labette County Attorney's Office into the unexpected death of K-9 Karim. Karim was sent to the Kansas State University School of Veterinarian Medicine for a full Necropsy. This is an ongoing investigation; further details will be released at a later date.
